Pocketful of Sunshine

Pocketful of Sunshine, Pocketful of Change, Pocketful of Money, Stampin Up, Sunglasses

Hello Crafters!

Today I’ve got to send a birthday card to my nephew. He’s a teenager and always appreciates a little pocket change. Who doesn’t, right! This card is pretty quick to complete as it doesn’t have a lot of layers but still looks great. The stamp set I used is perfect! It’s a new set from the 2017-2018 Stampin Up catalog and is called Pocketful of Sunshine. It also has coordinating Pocket Framelit Dies. The pocket is ideal for holding money or gift cards. Can’t wait to play with this one for Christmas as well. Maybe a pocket on Santa’s suit? Hmmm…

I have three cards for you today. The first two are similar and I just switched the colors and labels around a bit.

Measurements:
Card Base:    Cut 8.5" x 5.5"     Score at 4.25" on long side
Cardstock colors: Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink colors: Dapper Denim, Marina Mist

Tag is done with a scrap piece of Real Red and embossed with White Embossing Powder

Stitching on the blue jean pockets was done with Copper Embossing Powder. Wow did it come out great!  Looks just like the stitching on real jeans. I was really impressed.

The last card is done with Whisper White as the Base Card (same measurement as above) and I created a background using the pocket stitching stamp and Marina Mist ink. Pocket Framelit is using Dapper Denim cardstock, the sun is in Daffodil Delight, and the sunglasses are in Real Read for some pop of color.

Lemon Zest

Lemon Zest, Lemon Builder, Lemon Lime Twist, Stampin Up

Hello Crafters!

Today’s post is using one of the new stamp sets from the 2017-2018 Stampin Up catalog. It’s called Lemon Zest. Of course it can be used to make limes and oranges as well. It has some of my favorite life sentiments such as “If life hands you lemons….Squeeze it for all it’s worth!” or “Life’s Short….Live it with Zest”. It reminds us to find the good in whatever comes our way.

I have four cards for you, but it’s really just one card done with different fruits…I’m mean colors.

Lemon Zest, Lemon Builder, Lemon Lime Twist, Stampin UpLemon Zest, Lemon Builder, Lemon Lime Twist, Stampin Up

Measurements were the same on all cards.
Card Base:  Cut 8.5" x 5.5"    Score at 4.25" on long side
Layer one:  5.25" x 4"
Layer two:  5" x 3.75"

Lemon Card
Base is Crushed Curry
Layer one is Pear Pizzazz
Layer two is Whisper White
Lemon is stamped with Daffodil Delight
Lemon slice is stamped first with Daffodil Delight then using a sponge dauber, I added Crushed Curry to the edges of the stamp before stamping on to the paper. This technique adds a little extra depth and shading to make the fruit look more real.
Sentiments stamped with Garden Green. Stamped slices are daubered and adhered with deminsionals.
Clear Wink of Stella is used on all of the slices. It really makes them look juicy.

Orange Card
Base is Peekaboo Peach
Layer one is Calypso Coral
Layer two is Whisper White
Orange  is cut out using a 2.25” framelit and daubered with Calypso Coral to give the feel of the orange peel texture.
Orange slices are stamped first with Peekaboo Peach then using a sponge dauber, I added Calypso Coral to the edges of the stamp before stamping on to the paper.
Sentiments stamped with Calypso Coral. Stamped slices are daubered and adhered with dimensionals.
Clear Wink of Stella is used on all of the slices.

Clear Wink of Stella is used on all of the slices.

Tried to give you a close up shot so you could see the Wink of Stella.

This last card combines all the colors because I used my left overs! And it looks colorful as well.

Birthday Delivery featuring the Little Chef

Birthday Delivery Bundle, Birthday Memory DSP, Birthday Friends, embossing powder

Hello Crafters!

The last two weeks I posted cards using the Birthday Delivery Bundle with includes the Birthday Delivery stamp set, the Birthday Friends Framelits, AND the Birthday Memories DSP. As I promised, I will have a post each week that uses this set and I will feature something different each week.

Today, I will feature the little chef. I think he is just adorable!  I have three cards for you, but truthfully, I could have done a bunch of cards with this little guy. The chef is stamped on Whisper White, colored using Stampin Up markers, and then die cut using the Birthday Friends Framelits. The colors of cardstock used on the first two cards below are Whisper White, Basic Black, and Real Red. I embossed the Happy Birthday with VersaMark and SU white embossing powder. I used a scrap piece of black and white DSP but I don’t remember which set it came from and you can use any type of black and white DSP. It measures 1” x 5.25”. It is meant to serve as the floor of the bakery. On the other card I used a little bit of left over Christmas baker’s twine, it’s retired but you can use and red ribbon. The inside of these cards are left blank so it will give you plenty of room to write your message.

The colors of cardstock used on the last card are Early Espresso, Real Red, and Whisper White. The DSP is from this bundle and measures 2.5” x 5.25”. I stamped the little chef in Early Espresso for this card and I put Very Vanilla on the inside and used the Happy Birthday stamp also in Early Espresso ink.

Eastern Beauty Bundle with Gold Vinyl Stickers

Eastern Beauty, Eastern Medallions, Stampin Up, 2017 Catalog, gold vinyl stickers, gold embossing

Hello Crafters!

Eastern Beauty is one of the most versatile stamp sets ever. One reason for is some of the stamps are small and can be combined in so many different ways. Second reason, the matching Eastern Medallions Thinlets Dies are the same way. Third, there is Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers which I am showcasing here. Fourth there is Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series paper DSP that go with this set as well. The list could go on and on but you get the message. This is versatile and can be made to look totally different every time you use this bundle. As such, this is my second post using this bundle and I’m sure there will be many more.

Today's cards are using only the card based but is featuring the use of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers. I am also using the Eastern Palace Cardstock Pack which comes with Daper Denim, Fresh Fig, and Tranquil Tide. Just gorgeous together! Two of the cards are using those colors on Vaery Vanilla cardstock. You will also see gold foil sheets being used for circles and squares to create more layers and depth and a little bit of gold embossing on the two Very Vanilla cards.

Birthday Delivery featuring the Large Cake

Birthday Delivery, Birthday Memories DSP, Birthday Friends

Last week I posted about using the Birthday Memories DSP as cards that would look similar to the Little Golden Books that some of us grew up with. Well that bundle is so versatile that over the next few weeks I will have a post each week that uses this set and I will feature something different each week.

Today, I will feature the big birthday cake. I have four cards for you. The cakes on these were die cut from the Birthday Memories DSP using the Birthday Friends Framelits. The colors of cardstock used on the first two cards below are Dapper Denim, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzazz. I used Memento Black ink for the SURPRISE stamp and on the inside of both cards I used the Happy Birthday stamp that comes with the set also in Memento Black ink.

The colors of cardstock used on the next set of two cards below are Dapper Denim, Dapper Denim, Daffodil Delight, and Pear Pizzazz. I used Dapper Denim ink for the Happy Birthday stamp that comes with the set . The inside of these cards are left blank so it will give you plenty of room to write your message.

The little poodle is also die cut with the framelits from the DSP as well. Both the cake and the poodle come with as stamps so that you could easily have stamped the images and colored them with your favorite coloring technique whether it is water coloring, makers, or even colored pencils rather than using DSP.

Oh So Eclectic

Oh So Eclectic, 2017-2019 Stampin up catalog, Stampin Up Paste, make your own stencil

Hello Crafters!

Today I wan playing with the Oh So Eclectic bundle from Stampin' Up!. This stamp set and bundle originally caught my eye because of the Eclectic Layers Thinlets, specifically the diamond patterned thinlet. I love the possibilities of this thinlet, especially when you consider using it as a stencil and using the new paste from Stampin' Up catalog. I tried it out and it worked beautifully.

Oh So Eclectic, 2017-2019 Stampin up catalog, Stampin Up Paste, make your own stencil

For today's cards I used Whisper White, Fresh Fig, Daper Denim, Calypso Coral cardstock. For the inks I used Daper Denim, Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, and Calypso Coral. For the card above and the first card below you can use the same measurement (although in this picture they are slightly different).

Measurements
Card Base:
   Cut 8.5" x 5.5"
Score at 4.25" on long side
Layer one:  4.75" x 3.25"
Layer two:  4.5" x 3"
The other three cards use these measurements (same as in the pictures).

The last two cards are using the new Stampin Up paste. I first used the diamond star shaped thinlet and cut a piece of heavy Whisper White cardstock to use as my stencil. Next I put a little of the paste onto my Stampin Up silicone mat and a single drop of Calypso Coral refill ink and used the Stampin Up palette knives to mix the drop of ink and the paste. Then I positioned my home made stencil onto the Whisper White layer and used the palette knife to spread the ink. It turned out great!

Flourishing Phrases Fun Fold

Flourish Thinlets, Flourishing Phrases, Lovely Friends, Berry Burst, Butterfly Thinlets

Hello Crafters!

I saw a version this fun fold on Pinterest last week and wanted to give it a try. However, there was no blog or website that gave me measurement. But that didn't stop me. It took me a few tries, but I figured out a slightly different version than what I originally saw, but as it turned out...I like mine better!

The die cuts are made with the Flourish Thinlets from Stampin’ Up and the sentiments as well as the flower stamps on the inside boxes are from a new Stampin’ Up set called Lovely Friends.

Flourish Thinlets, Flourishing Phrases, Lovely Friends, Berry Burst, Butterfly Thinlets

Measurements
Card Base:
Cut a regular piece of cardstock to 11" x 5.5"
Score on the long side at 3.5", and 7". The first score will be a mountain fold and the next will be a valley fold until you cut the “boxes” which will become mountains inside the valley.

On the valley fold, with the valley folded, you will cut into the valley 1.25 inches deep  starting with the top of the card: cut at .75", 2", 2.5" 3.75", 4.25".
Very carefully, score along each side of the 1.25" box at the end of the cuts. This will allow the box to be folded as a mountain inside the valley.

The smallest panel is the front panel.
   Front of card
      Layer one:  3.25" x 5.25"
      Layer two:  3" x 5"
   Inside Left Panel
      Layer one:  2" x 5.25"
      Layer two:  1.75" x 5"
   Inside Right Panel
      Layer one:  2 5/8" x 5.25"
      Layer two:  2 3/8" x 5"

Box Layers
I did 3 layers on this card but it can be done with only one or two layers as well. The first layer covers the entire side of the box.
   Layer one: 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"
   Layer two: 1 1/8" x 1 1/8 "
   Layer three: 1" x 1"
