A Gift of Cards

I went to a small gathering (not exactly a party) a couple of weeks ago and it is typically considered polite to take a small gift as a thank you for the invitation. Normally I take a bottle of wine in these cases but since this couple hardly ever has a glass, I had to come up with something quick.  So I gathered up some cards I had made with the Penned and Painted stamp set from SU and to make it seems more like a gift I made a card and envelop holder.  It was so quick and easy.

She LOVED them and thought it was a great gift.

I took one sheet of Whisper White, cut a piece that was 10 1/4 by 6 1/4 inches. I scored it 4 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches on the long side. After rounding the corners I quickly stamped the outside of it with the same stamp set and colors as the cards.

Then I took a strip of Whisper White that was 7 1/2 by 1 1/2 and scored it at 1/2, 7/8, 6 1/2, and 6 7/8. This was the strip to hold the envelopes.

The pocket is 1/2 deep and can easily hold 6 cards if they are too layered.  The measurements are 3 1/2 by 6 3/8 inches and scored at 1/2, 1, 5 3/8, and 5 7/8 on the long side. On the short side I scored at 1/2 and 1 inches.  I had to do a little cutting on the bottom to make it fold nicely.

Finally I assembled the pocket and adhered to the right side. Put in my cards and before I knew, BAM, there was my finished gift.
