This Old Barn - Watercolor

This card is for an Art Impressions Challenge.

I fell in love with watercolor again.  It reminds me of painting with my mother as I was growing up. We used to tole paint together and oil paint...at least a couple of them. I really didn't like oil painting so we gave it up pretty quick.  We also would paint ceramics together. We never watercolor painted together because she never liked it, said she didn't know how. But the subject of my new love also is very much my mother.  She collected paintings of barns by other artists and as it happens, most of them are watercolor.  They hang in my house now.

Anyway, this is a new stamp from Art Impressions.  Yes, I know, I'm a SU Demonstrator but sometimes I like to try new things.  I saw this technique (The Art Impression Way) at the Houston CKC (Creating Keepsakes Convention) last weekend, took the class, and fell in love with the technique and many of their stamps. I met Kendra, the daughter of the owner and founder of AI,she taught the class; she was a great teacher and very nice young lady. This stamp just released today but I was able to pick it up at CKC.

I colored this picture using Marvy LePlume II markers. I will most likely end up framing this and hanging it next to my mother's barn collection on the wall.
