Penned and Painted using Watercolor Pencils

I have always liked this set.  Penned and Painted from Stampin' Up. I used SU watercolor pencils on this one.

This card is just about perfect for any occasion, Birthday, Thinking of You, Hello, Just Because, Sympathy, Feel Better or even better yet....Mother's Day.  Mother's Day is just around the corner and most Mother's love flowers. These won't wilt! And she will love know you made them, so give it a try.

The colors of paper Basic Black card base with Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay for the layers. I stamped the image on watercolor paper with StazOn ink then used then pencils by pressing hard on the paper. Each petal uses four colors with the darkest colors nearest the center. I started with Rich Razzleberry closest to the center, then Melon Mambo, next I used Calypso Coral, and finally a little of the Daffodil Delight pencil near the edge. Next I used a DAMP watercolor brush (the ones that hold water) and lightly drew the color of each petal from the inside to the outside of the flower. This process drags the darker color to the edge and almost covers the Daffodil Delight entirely.

The same technique was used on the outside of the flowers to create the background only I used more water the further away from the flower I got. I started with Bermuda Bay closest to the flowers, then used Old Olive and Daffodil Delight. Daffodil Delight is the very center of the flower.

This card was made for a SU Team Challenge card and will be mailed off tomorrow. I think I'm going to have to make another one of these for myself. IT turned out wonderful with the vibrant colors.

Hope you enjoyed today's card.
