Birthday Delivery Bundle and Little Golden Books

Hello Crafters!

How many of you remember The Little Golden Books with the golden spine? I saw this at Stampin’ Up On Stage event in Shreveport, LA and it brought back such sweet memories of reading with either Mom or Dad. I just had to do a set for myself. I don’t know who originally thought of turning this set into Little Golden Cards, I wish I could give them credit. This bundle is new to this year’s Stampin’ Up catalog and it is awesome. It is a Suite, meaning you have several coordinating products such as the stamp set, framelits, DSP, ribbon, and more. The bundle comes with the stamp set, framelits, and DSP.

The animal pictures are from a single sheet of Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) and are CAREFULLY cut into strips between the animals. Then the top and bottom is cut to 8.25" in length to best fit each image. The raccoon strip will be a little smaller and it will look best by adding another layer in front of the Dapper Denim. I used Pool Party. I stamped the inside of each card with the Happy Birthday sentiment that comes with the Birthday Delivery stamp set. 

  

I didn’t have any measurements so I had to figure them out for myself. I started with a regular office envelope because I didn’t want to have to custom make an envelope to send my card. Below is what I came up with and it turned out fairly well. The only difference is the card with the Bear and Squirrel since that picture has two animals and is wider.

The entire card measures:

   Opened 8.5" x 7.5"

   Closed 8.5" x 3.75"

 

The card base is made from three pieces:

Whisper White: 8.5" x 5.5" – Scored at 1.75" on the short side

Yellow DSP: 8.5" x .75"

Dapper Denim: 8.5" x 3.25" (the Bear/Squirrel is 8.5" x 3 5/8")
